On 29th of July till 2nd of August in Palanga was organized international art ant music festival „Open sea: Under the sky of Palanga“, where were presented masterworks of Italian, Russian and Lithuanian artists. The festival gave for spectator an opportunity to view the masterpiecies of XVI-XVII c. artists paintings, to enjoy of captivating sound of quartet „Furioso“, to view a colourful, impresive electronic music opera fantasy XYZ and more other.
The program started on 29th of July, the day before the festival with Jurga Seduikyte Acoustic Concert. One of the most popular singers in Lithuania – Jurga Šeduikytė invited to an intimate musical meeting. This program is an access to well-known songs from much closer.
The official opening ceremony of the festival was organized on 30th of July in villa “Auska“. It was also the opening of the exhibition of paintings of Italian artists from XVI – XVII c. The exhibition presented 15 religious-themed paintings. These works are collected from various places of Italy, from Milan to Naples. The visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the various schools and manners of famous artists paintings.
On 31st of July - Acoustic Concert in Palanga‘s Kurhaus Hall. Four professional virtuosos – guitarist Aniello Desiderio, his brothers Gennaro (violin) and Gaetano (piano) and percussionist Salvatore Minale. The kind of musician that seems to have disappeared long ago, they sweep away the audience with enthusiasm – as the great virtuosi of XIX c.
On 1st of August – Frauchi Guitar Quartet Acoustic Concert (Moscow) in Palanga‘s children sanatorium “Palangos Gintaras“.The quartet is composed of eminent Russian guitarists - winners of international competitions. Sounds of acoustic music reach each listener's heart penetrating to the depths of the soul.
On 1st of August, 2014, 8 p.m. – Electronic Fantasy XYZ, combining famous opera arias and duets with contemporary electronic music in villa “Auska“. Director and producer – Dalia Ibelhauptaitė. Costume designer – Juozas Statkevičius. Highly-charged and every time unexpected XYZ performances seek to introduce the audience with non-traditional music form – electronic interpretation of opera, using unconventional industrial spaces, which are uncomfortable for arts, proving that high professional art does not require bright luxurious places and red carpets. XYZ pursues to overcome the stereotype that opera without that is hardly possible. XYZ provides a way to promote classical music for wider audience.
On 2nd of August, 2014, 8 p.m. – Classical music concert in the Most Holy Virgin Mary's Ascension Church in Palanga. During the concert spectators had to possibility to heard the sounds of organ, acoustic music, viola and violin. Artists from Moscow: Leonid Bachtalin – baritone, Sergej Poltavskij – viola, Mihail Simonian – violin, Frauchi Guitar Quartet and others.
The closing event of the festival in villa’s “Auska” gazebo was organized on 2nd of August where gathered all honorable guests and sponsors of the festival.
